2.2 To Provide AI-Powered Features

  • Process your content through Google Generative AI for relationship insights
  • Generate personalized AI counseling suggestions
  • Analyze relationship patterns for the Relationship Health Tracker
  • Provide conflict resolution guidance
  • Create conversation starters and prompts

Important: AI processing is done in real-time and your content is not permanently stored by AI providers.

2.3 To Improve and Personalize the Service

  • Understand how users interact with features
  • Identify and fix technical issues
  • Develop new features and improvements
  • Personalize content recommendations (articles, date ideas, questions)
  • Customize the user experience based on your preferences
  • Analyze aggregated trends to improve relationship guidance

2.4 To Communicate with You

  • Send account notifications (pairing requests, partner activity)
  • Deliver daily prompts, questions, and Heart Note reminders
  • Send streak reminders and achievement notifications
  • Provide customer support
  • Send service updates and feature announcements

2.5 To Process Payments

  • Process subscription payments through Stripe
  • Manage free trials and billing cycles
  • Handle refund requests

  • Verify user age (18+ requirement)
  • Investigate and prevent abuse, harassment, or policy violations

3. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

3.1 With Your Partner

When you pair with a partner, you explicitly choose to share certain information:

Always Shared with Partner:

  • Answers to couple questions you mark as "shared"
  • Chat messages (all messages are shared)
  • Daily Heart Notes
  • Couple games participation and results
  • Shared journal entries
  • Shared mood tracking data
  • Shared goals and milestones
  • Couple bucket list items
  • Shared timeline events
  • Revealed confessions
  • Conflict resolution responses

Never Shared with Partner (Unless You Choose):

  • Private journal entries
  • Self-discovery answers marked "private"
  • Private mood data
  • Individual goals
  • Private bucket list items
  • Anonymous confessions (until revealed)
  • Account password
  • Payment information

Important: Once you share content with your partner, they have access to it even if you later unpair. We cannot control what your partner does with shared content (screenshots, saving, forwarding).

3.2 With Service Providers

We share information with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the Service:

Supabase (Database & Authentication):

  • Account information, user content, usage data
  • Purpose: Store and manage data, handle authentication

Google Generative AI (AI Features):

  • Content you submit for AI analysis
  • Purpose: Generate AI counseling and relationship insights
  • Data processing: Real-time only, not permanently stored by Google

Stripe (Payment Processing):

  • Payment information, billing details, transaction history
  • Purpose: Process payments and manage subscriptions

Vercel (Hosting):

  • Technical data for app delivery
  • Purpose: Host and deliver the application

All service providers are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for specified purposes.

3.3 For Legal Reasons

We may disclose your information if required by law or in good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • Comply with legal obligations, court orders, or government requests

4. DATA RETENTION

4.1 Active Accounts

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as necessary to provide the Service.

Specific Retention Periods:

  • Account Information: Retained while account is active
  • Shared Content with Partner: Retained indefinitely (accessible to both partners even after unpairing)
  • Private Content: Retained until you delete it or your account
  • Chat Messages: Retained until account deletion
  • Mood and Health Data: Retained for historical tracking purposes
  • Timeline and Bucket List: Retained until deleted by you
  • Payment Records: Retained for 7 years (legal requirement)
  • Support Tickets: Retained for 3 years

4.2 Account Deletion

When you delete your account:

  • Account deletion is permanent after 30 days
  • Your private content is deleted
  • Your partner is notified of unpairing
  • Shared content remains accessible to your partner (we cannot delete content from their view)
  • Chat messages are removed from servers after 90 days
  • Anonymized usage data may be retained for analytics
  • Backups are purged within 90 days

4.3 Legal Retention

Some information may be retained longer if required by law or for legitimate business purposes:

  • Payment records (7 years)
  • Abuse reports and safety investigations (7 years)
  • Legal disputes (duration of dispute + 1 year)

5. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

5.1 Access and Portability

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal information
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format (JSON or PDF)
  • Download your journal, timeline, and content
  • Export your chat history

  • Shared content remains with your partner
  • Legal obligations may require us to retain certain data
  • Backups may persist for up to 90 days

5.4 Opt-Out of Marketing

You have the right to:

  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails
  • Opt out of promotional notifications
  • Disable non-essential communications

5.5 Opt-Out of AI Features

  • Notify affected users within 72 hours (as required by law)
  • Report to relevant authorities
  • Take immediate steps to contain and remediate the breach
  • Provide guidance on protective measures

7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Our Service is NOT intended for individuals under 18 years of age.

  • We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18
  • Users must confirm they are 18+ when creating an account
  • If we discover a user is under 18, we will immediately delete their account
